Let Me Know by Stina Lindenblatt - Book Tour, Book Review & Giveaway

This shouldn't be happening again…

Amber Scott thought her screaming nightmares would end now that her stalker is locked up and awaiting trial. But they return when her slam-dunk case starts to fall apart. Explicit letters she allegedly wrote surface, suggesting she was the mastermind behind her assault, a willing victim.

Amber only feels safe in the arms of her boyfriend Marcus, the one person she can lean on. Until damning evidence from Marcus's past collides with the case and the media circus drags them both down. To protect Amber's reputation, Marcus has only one option: end their relationship. He won't risk further damage to her case, even if it means breaking her heart.

Amber has to find the strength to step into the spotlight and bring awareness to victims' rights before she's convicted in the court of public opinion. And she's really not sure what's worse—that her kidnapper could walk free, or that the seemingly endless attention and speculation will drive Marcus away permanently…

See how it all began for Amber and Marcus in Tell Me When.

Note: Please be advised to read the first book, Tell Me When, before you read this review.

I was kind of blindsided reading this book without reading and understanding the synopsis. I didn’t realize this was a continuation of another book and I was kind of frustrated because I would have appreciated the story better if I read the first one. Lesson learned.

So obviously, the most gruesome details happened in the first book. Let Me Know shows how the events impacted the lives of Marcus and Amber and their loved ones and how they coped up. Although I haven’t read the first book, I kind of figured out the personalities of Marcus and Trent.

Marcus Reid’s luck plummeted when his mother married, Frank. His stepfather was a sick bastard who swings for the opposite sex. His brother, Ryan, was killed while he attempted to assault Marcus. His brother was an unfortunate victim of their stepfather’s perverseness and unfortunately their mother is blind about it. Now that they can’t prove about his actions to the police, the criminal in busy roaming around, hunting for his next prey.

Amber Scott has been a victim of a mentally ill stalker disguised as her friend. Her future was planned out. She was going to become a veterinarian and play in the basketball varsity team at the university they’re planning to attend together with her best friend, Emma and her boyfriend, Trent. She was kidnapped, raped, and tortured for three weeks.

What happened to her was something I can’t even fathom. And if I were in her shoes, I would have chosen to die instead of enduring those three weeks of pain. Her will to survive was what made her amazing. That despite everything she went through, she still wanted to live. She fought for her life, and that was what made her amazing. I was in awe of her strength.

Marcus was a big help towards Amber since they have both been through almost the same situation. The problem is, Marcus’ perpetrator is still free while Amber’s was trying be free.

Let Me Know details the trauma, the victims of abuse, were experiencing in their lives. While some are brave enough to speak about their experiences, many of them have sealed their lips – afraid of how the people will react and judge them. There are still people out there who are embarrassed of what happened to them. They don’t want people to laugh at them. They don’t want to feel dirty. But what these people fail to realize is that, while they are keeping their mouths shut, their perpetrators may be hunting for their next prey adding a next victim to their list. Let Me Know wants to deliver a very important message to its readers. If you are a victim, you must take a risk and speak.

Moreover, it also emphasizes the dangers of being stalked. While Hollywood celebrities had their fair share of their own, even the ordinary people have one. Stalkers are not just something to be joked about. Some would find it amusing to know they have stalkers. It can definitely stroke their egos. Stalkers should be taken seriously, because more often than not, they are dangerous. If you have a stalker or if you know anyone who have a stalker, please report it to the authorities.
